Phillip Boulten SC

Admitted as a legal practitioner in 1979
Admitted as a barrister in 1988

Phillip Boulten is a senior criminal lawyer practising throughout Australia at all levels of the criminal justice system.
 
He has appeared in many high profile trials and appeals.  He regularly represents clients charged with Corporations Act offences, foreign bribery charges, corruption offences and espionage.  He often represents people accused of sex-related offences, drug trafficking and importation offences, money laundering and offences involving violence, including homicide.  He appears in jury trials and sentence matters as well as in appeals before Courts of Appeal and the High Court.
 
He commonly appears for witnesses at ICAC, at Royal Commissions and other Inquiries as well as at inquests. Phillip Boulten also regularly appears in disciplinary and regulatory tribunals including NCAT – typically for lawyers and medical professionals.   
 
Phillip Boulten is a former President of the NSW Bar Association, a former Treasurer of the Australian Bar Association and formerly a Chair of a Bar Association Professional Conduct Committee.  He is a long term member of the Law Council of Australia’s Criminal Law Committee.
