Troy Edwards SC

Admitted as a legal practitioner (NSW) in 1999.
Admitted as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court Of Judicature Of England and Wales in 2003.
Admitted as a barrister (NSW) in 2009.
​Appointed senior counsel in 2022.

Troy Edwards’ experience at the bar focusses predominately on criminal trials at both Supreme and District Court levels including sexual assault trials, drug importations and serious property offences. He also has extensive experience in sentencing matters  before the District Court as well as an appellate practice in the NSW Court of Criminal appeal involving serious matters including murder.

Troy has represented families of deceased persons in the NSW Coroner's Court, has appeared in both NSW and Australian Crime Commissions as well as the Independent Commission against Corruption (ICAC). 

Troy practiced as Senior Legal Aid Advocate in Malawi, Southern Africa for 18 months, primarily as an advocate in appeals for death penalty cases. Troy was awarded the Australian Children's Lawyer of the Year Award in 2002 for his excellence in representation of indigenous children before NSW Courts. Troy practiced as an Accredited Specialist in criminal law as a solicitor, conducting numerous trials as a solicitor advocate whilst employed by the Aboriginal Legal Service.

He was originally employed as a solicitor with the Aboriginal Legal Service, then admitted as a solicitor in the United Kingdom and practiced as a trial advocate at Fisher Meredith, specialising in criminal law.
